After it was looking a little dead in the water, it sounds like things are a go for the Predator reboot, simply titled The Predator. Leading man Boyd Holbrook recently spoke with We Got This Covered and revealed some rather intriguing details about what we can expect from the movie. First and foremost, it doesn't sound like the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be making an appearance in The Predator.
Holbrook said:
"I don’t think you’re going to see [Arnold] Schwarzenegger. It would kind of make it a gimmick. It’s horror, science-fiction and a western."
What's also interesting is the description of "western" as a genre for The Predator. There wasn't much of a question that previous entries in the series were heavy on the Sci-Fi angle, and depending on what freaks you out, one could argue there was some horror as well. But including elements of a western would be new territory for the franchise.
Holbrook also described the movie as being "real fresh" saying that "Shane Black has made something totally new, somehow keeping within the realm of Predator [while also being] absolutely new in terms of the story that we’re talking about today, and rooted in something real."
Olivia Munn will co-star alongside Holbrook when The Predator releases next year in February.
