The Queen’s Wrath returns in Destiny with ‘The Great Wolf Hunt’, lets you test the Scorch Cannon

Avenge the awoken. Find the Betrayers.

What a surprise! It appears that Petra Venj, the Queen's Emissary, has arrived alongside today's update 1.2.0, bringing new Fallen bounties to complete for the Queen's Wrath.

Upon logging into Destiny, you should receive the following message:

THE GREAT WOLF HUNT

Avenge The Awoken. Find The Betrayers.

Petra Venj, the Queen's Emissary, has returned to the Tower in search of Guardians willing to hunt down the Fallen betrayers.

  • New "Wanted" Fallen Bounties
  • New House of Wolves Public Event
  • Earn reputation toward House of Wolves weapons and gear

For those unfamiliar, the Queen's Wrath is a timed event in which new bounties featuring challenging mission modes are offered in return for special rewards. The Queen's Wrath bounties can be picked up from Petra Venj, who is found inside the Iron Banner curtain. In addition to the bounties, she offers a variety of Queen-themed weapons, armor, emblems, and shaders for Glimmer; however, to buy them, you must first increase your Queen Rank by earning reputation.

Based on the name of this event, it appears related to next week's expansion, House of Wolves. It even lets you test out the Scorch Cannon, a relic from House of Wolves that can be obtained in Prison of Elders and The Shadow Thief. Players will be able to obtain the Scorch Cannon in Destiny from Varik's Gift after completing a Critical Objective during a Prison of Elders round. Alternatively, you can hope it drops from the boss of The Shadow Thief.

According to a Redditor, the bounties have you travel to a specific location and fight waves of enemies. Once completed, you have one minute to find a hidden chest.
