The Shadow Moses project has been officially cancelled

The game was a fan remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid from PS1

Fans of the Metal Gear franchise remember the first 3D iteration from the series:  Metal Gear Solid like they just played it yesterday. So when an indie studio, The Shadow Moses Project, decided to take on the idea to remake the iconic PS1 classic in Unreal Engine 4, fans were beyond ecstatic.

However, the dream of seeing the game remade in glorious HD was short-lived. The studio took to their Facebook page to update fans that the game has been officially cancelled, here's what they had to say:

"We have to cancel the Shadow Moses Project for reasons beyond our control," the developer said on the project's Facebook page. "We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support we have received."

They didn't specify why they had to cancel, they just stated that it was "for reasons beyond our control"; so we know what that means: Konami.

The company has been going downhill ever since the whole Kojima feud, Konami was once a company that had the loyalty of their fans, their beloved 'Konami Code' has found its way into almost everything, but now it seems like the entire gaming community turning their back on them for the last year or so.

One can only hope that a proper MGS 1 remake will gracefully arrive at our consoles one day, but until then make sure to watch the 'what could have been remade MGS game', above.
