The Showdown Effect channels its inner 80s action flick in a new trailer

Paradox Interactive released a new trailer today for its upcoming 2.5D multiplayer combat title The Showdown Effect. The trailer channels its inner 80s action flick cheesiness to combine some cool gameplay footage with action clichés. I have to admit, it makes me want to play the game. If it makes you want to play the game after watching the trailer, Paradox is taking The Showdown Effect beta sign-ups now, which you can sign-up for HERE. What should you expect from this game?

Customize your action hero, grab a gun, and see if you can survive the cinematic madness and
cheesy one-liners that make up The Showdown Effect – kicking ass, taking names, and then
kicking the asses of those names.

As for the trailer, you can watch it below, or you can go to their Twitchtv channel to watch Arrowhead Studios' livestream of the game — starting at 11am PST/2pm EST.

The Showdown Effect comes to PC in March 2013.
