Technically, the future of The Sims franchise is The Sims 4, but along the way we'll be making a pit stop into the world of tomorrow with the upcoming expansion for The Sims 3, titled Into the Future. Just announced today, the new expansion — due out this fall — will transport your Sims hundreds of years into the future, where you can "explore the world of tomorrow, meet their descendants, and master the technology of the future."
We're talking hoverboards, jetpacks, and food synthesizers. Be warned though: "Your Sims actions in the present will have surprising effects on the future."
The Sims 3 Into the Future is set to release for PC/Mac on October 22, but you can pre-order it today. Oh, and The Sims 4 will be revealed at Gamescom next month.
