EA has released a new video for The Sims 3 Seasons, an upcoming expansion for its long-standing series which changes the weather based on the time of year.
In the video, The Sims voice director Bill Cameron walks us through the different seasons you'll experience when playing The Sims 3 Seasons. He uses producer Ryan Vaughn's Sims family – particularly Clark – as the starting foundation for the type of story you can have when playing this latest expansion.
For the first time in The Sims history, you'll experience dynamic weather. Depending on the time of year – fall, winter, spring and summer – you'll get to participate in different activities, seasonal festivals, and new types of parties. For instance, at the fall festival you can participate in a pie eating contest or visit the local haunted house. In winter, you can enjoy a snow day with snow ball fights or snow boarding.
You can even visit the Ice Lounge, a sleek social club that can be placed in any world from The Sims and is available to visit during all seasons. This pre-order bonus includes 12 new objects made entirely of ice.
With the changing of weather comes some new challenges, however. In the winter, you must bundle up or your sim can freeze into a block of ice. I'm sure there are other elements you must protect your sim from, but this was the only one that was highlighted.
Basically, the new seasons in The Sims 3 open up the opportunity for you to craft a story just as fun as the one in this video. Although Clark remains nerdy throughout all stages of his life, the help from the weather enables him to woo the love of his life, Abby. Come November 13, 2012, you'll be able to experience the dynamic weather and festivities that accompany these changing seasons when The Sims 3 Seasons releases.
