Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in his mystical lair, the Sanctum Sanctorum
Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Benedict Cumberbatch appeared to promote his latest movie, Marvel's Doctor Strange, and unveil the first trailer for the November release. If you missed it, check it out above!
Marvel's mind-bending foray into the realm of the mystical will be the MCU's official second movie in their Phase III line-up, following next month's Captain America: Civil War. The movie stars Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mads Mikkelson, and is helmed by Sinister director, Scott Derrickson.
Doctor Strange focuses on the arrogant, but brilliantly talented surgeon, Dr. Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch). After a near fatal accident tragically leaves him with limited use of his hands, Dr. Strange searches the world for any remedy or procedure to repair his livelihood and return him to the man he once was. After exhausting all his fortune and resources, he hears of the legendary Ancient One (Swinton), a being capable of healing anyone. Little does he know, his journey will lead him to a higher path; one that will show him power the likes of which he could never imagine as he becomes the guardian of all magic, the Sorcerer Supreme.
Before the trailer premier, Marvel also released the first official teaser poster for the movie featuring the image of Doctor Strange standing strong in his home, the Sanctum Sanctorum. Check it out on the next page!
