The Super Mario Bros. Super Show actor Danny Wells has passed away

Danny Wells, the Canadia-born actor who played Luigi in the live-action The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, has passed away at the age of 72.

According to his obituary in The Montreal Gazette, Wells — whose real name was Jack Westelman — died last Thursday, November 28 in Toronto, Ontario.

Wells is probably best known for his role as Charlie the Bartender in The Jeffersons, but he starred in a number of TV shows throughout his career. His role, opposite Lou Albano as Mario, in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show is undoubtedly what most gamers will remember him by.
