The Team Fortress 2 clock is ticking to…something…

The clock is ticking. In (at the time of this writing) about twenty hours, something is going to happen in Team Fortress 2.

What that something is, though, remains a bit of a mystery. I went onto the game's subreddit in an attempt to figure things out. I came away with the following:
