Rare Replay – Xbox One – August 4th
One of the Xbox One's most anticipated exclusives, Rare Replay is a compilation of 30 games by Rare and its predecessor Ultimate Play the Game from prior platforms that range from the Xbox 360 to the ZX Spectrum. Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon – PC – August 6th
I don't like spiders, and because of that I was hesitant to even include this on the list of game releases. But unlike the spiders in my house, the one you'll be playing as won't be trying to eat my face or lay eggs in my brain. Instead, you'll crawl about an abandoned mansion, spinning webs through the chambers of the home while uncovering the truth of what really happened in this mysterious place.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight – Nintendo 3DS – August 4th
Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: The Fafnir Knight offers players two experiences: a brand new story with a fixed party, voiced dialogue, animated cutscenes, and the Fafnir class, which has the ability to transform into a beastly demonic form; and the original Etrian Odyssey 2, complete with updated graphics and a full roster of classes.
Galak-Z: The Dimensional – PlayStation 4- August 4th
Originally revelaed all the way back in 2013, Galak-Z is finally make its debut on PlayStation 4 (the PS Vita version has been cancelled) this week. Galak-Z: The Dimensional is a two-dimensional sci-fi shooter with randomly generated levels that are connected as an endless dungeon. The game puts you into the cockpit of a versatile spacecraft with a host of powerful weapons, including the ability to transform on the fly from a ship into a devastating mech.
As we wrote over the weekend, there are plenty of new and exciting games to looking forward to this month. But while the month promises all sorts of goodies on Xbox One and PS4, the wait for some of the more exciting titles isn't that long. Freedom Planet – Wii U – August 3rd
Freedom Planet is a cartoony, combat-based platform adventure that pits a spunky dragonoid and her friends against an alien attack force. Already available on PC for a few weeks now, Freedom Planet makes its Wii U debut this week, where you'll fight your way across the celestial world of Avalice.
Update: Freedom Planet's Wii U release has been pushed back to next week.
