The Weekly Drop for Xbox One and PS4 (2/24/15)

The month of love wraps up this week, but not before the release of some smaller, yet exciting video games for Xbox One and PS4. With The Order: 1886 — the first of PlayStation 4's many exciting 2015 exclusives (though reviews have not been kind — having released last week, things are a bit quieter for Sony this; but, there's still a few games worth checking out. Below is a look at the games releasing this week for Xbox One and PS4.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse – PS4, Xbox – February 24, 2015

For the first time ever in the Dragon Ball Z video game world, Dragon Ball Xenoverse allows you to create and play as your own character. Traveling through time with Trunks, it’s up to you to ensure that the Dragon Ball timeline is kept in order.  What’s neat about the game is that by traveling through time and having the timeline disrupted, you’ll experience new, never-before-seen scenarios that will add some variety to the storyline Dragon Ball Z fans are already familiar with.

Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires – PS4, Xbox One – February 24, 2015

Mow armies down with characters from the Warring States Period or create your own. The Empires version is slightly more sim oriented. Here you can lead your created character through battle, marry, and even have children that will carry over stats to their children. If you're a fan of Dynasty Warriors games and wish they had a little bit more depth, Empires is certainly the game for you.

Resident Evil: Revelations – Episode 1 – PS4 (Feb. 24), Xbox One (Feb. 25)

Capcom has adopted an episodic release model with Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the first of which is to release this week. Set between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, the game stars Claire Redfield as the main protagonist with Barry Burton’s daughter Moira filling a supporting role. having survived the Raccoon City incident depicted in previous Resident Evil games, Claire now works for the anti-bioterrorism organization Terra Save. While at a party for Terra Save, unknown armed forces storm in and knock the two unconscious. They later awake to find themselves in an abandoned detention facility where they must work together to find out who took them and why they did so.

Pneuma: Breath of Life – Xbox One- February 27, 2015

Pneuma: Breath of Life is a first-person puzzler that looks to "push your brains to its limits." The game "provides players with an unrivaled sense of awe and a relentless determination to solve every puzzle and progress through a narrated story of self-discovery, exploring the fundamental nature of being." The difficult puzzler is designed to force players to think outside of the box and explore beyond what they know as reality through the eyes of a god. Although also coming to Steam, Pneuma: Breath of Life is making its console debut first on Xbox One exclusively.

As a reminder, this is also the last week to take advantage of February's free PlayStation Plus and Games with Gold titles. If nothing this week appeals to you, might as well download some free games to keep you busy. We should also be hearing next month's lineup of free games sometime this week, so be sure to check back.
