This week continues a rather busy January which has already seen the release of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Citizens of Earth. We're not finished yet, though. Closing out the month of January 2015, we have Dying Light, Grim Fandango Remastered, and the highly anticipated re-release of Metroid Prime: Trilogy.
Check out the details of each game below and let us know which, if any, you plan on getting this week.
Dying Light – January 27, 2015 – Xbox One, PS4
Dying Light is a first-person, action survival-horror game that emphasizes parkour traversial through an urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak. During the day, you’ll set out to scavenge for supplies, but at night you better find cover because the hunter becomes the hunted. Dying Light offers two unique gameplay experiences as the infected become more aggressive and dangerous when the sun goes down. It was also announced last week that Dying Light's "Be the Zombie" multiplayer mode — formerly a pre-order DLC bonus — will be free for everyone.
Grim Fandango Remastered – January 27, 2015 – PS4
Based on the acclaimed 1998 classic, this is a remake of Tim Schafer’s original adventure based on various legends of Mexican folklore. You play as Manny Calavera, a mid-level worker at the Department of Death who is trying to work off his sins in life so that he can get his final reward. As a reaper, Manny frees incoming souls from their shrouds, finds out what kind of underworld travel packages their goodness in life has earned them, and then sends them on their way; unfortunately, business isn’t that great right now. Calavera is told that he must sell a premium travel package to a soul or lose his job. From there, begins an epic adventure filled with dancing skeletons, crime, romance, and more.
Raven’s Cry – January 28, 2015 – PS4
This dark action-adventure sees Christopher Raven embark on a vengeful quest to track down and kill the men who murdered his family. With events in-game seamlessly interwoven with historical ones, Raven’s Cry offers thrilling narrative that will challenge the image of pirates in pop culture.
Metroid Prime: Trilogy – January 29, 2015 – Wii U
Metroid Prime: Trilogy is a compilation featuring three games from the Metroid series: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Originally released for Wii in 2009, the compilation was praised mostly for its content — three great games for the price of one. A new control scheme based around the Wii Remote was also well-received. Metroid Prime: Trilogy will be available for the Wii U digitally through the eShop.
Life is Strange – January 30, 2015 – Xbox One, PS4
