The Wheel of Time TV Series Starts Production by Sony Television

Sony Pictures Television begins their plans to adapt The Wheel of Time series to television.  The Wheel of Time is a series of fantasy novels by Robert Jordan, consisting of 14 titles.

It's a classic high fantasy that follows the Dragon Reborn, who's destined to unite various factions of the world against "the Dark One." Since the initial release of the series,  it has spawned a video game, a tabletop roleplaying game, comics books and a soundtrack.

The TV series is produced by Sony alongside Red Eagle Entertainment and Radar Pictures. Rafe Judkins is the writers and producer. He's previously worked on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD and Chuck. An interesting note, Robert Jordan's widow Harriet McDougal will serve as consulting producer to accurately portray the series to TV.
