The Wii U is getting a GameCube-inspired controller

For some Super Smash Bros. fans, I guess the Wii U's pro controller just won't cut it.

A GameCube-inspired controller is being created by Performance Designed Products (PDP). It will be licensed by Nintendo, sold for $24.99, and release this Holiday season alongside Super Smash Bros.

PDP's controller will feature characters "such as Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach," though there wasn't any further clarification in what that exactly means. Will the controller feature artwork with all three characters? Will there be a variety of controllers to choose from? Oh man, I hope that's the case.

For those of you that enjoy playing Super Smash Bros. with a GameCube controller, your dreams have come true.
