CD Project Red has revealed a few more details about the next big expansion for The Witcher 3, Blood and Wine. It turns out that the map will be huge.
In an interview with German site GameStar, with the important parts translated by Redditor Pawel95, CD Project Red let the world know a bit more about their next expansion, which they have been very quiet about. Besides a look at the box art, some good looking screenshots, and word on there bringing more Gwent cards, CDPR have not said much about the Blood & Wine expansion, until now, where they said a tad bit more.
According to Pawel95's translation of the interview the Blood & Wine expansion's map size will be as big as the Skellige Isles combined, which means it will be huge! The graphics in this new area will also be improved, meaning that the new area will look better than the areas on the main map. CDPR was also talking about bringing some of the improvements to the older areas, such as the new grass graphics and such.
Though no release date has been confirmed by CDPR they did say that Blood & Wine would release before E3 2016, which means that it if everything goes as planned then it should come out within a month and a halfs time.
CDPR has some bad news for those who are waiting for a price drop on season passes or individual content pieces for Witcher 3, they have no plans on lowering the prices of any content in the near future, the new expansion will be at full price for the foreseeable future.
They also cleared the air on a few other points such as
There are no plans on remastering The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2.
There are no plans on making a retail version which combines all three games in one package. The reason for that was because when The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2 are on sale then they are so cheap that they are almost free.
CDPR might do a Game of the Year edition for The Witcher 3 which will include everything, all patches, DLC's, and expansions.
CDPR also dropped some information on Cyperpunk 2077. A few days ago they were looking for developers who can work on engines so questions on whether or not the gams had begun development or not came up. The CDPR representatives could not confirm or deny anything, but one of them said
"It's like you have a house for a few years and want to renew some things. You bring a cement mixer and start working. People will see that and say 'Man, they haven't even finished the house yet' It's the same about the tools for Cyperpunk 2077"
It looks like there are no reason to worry about Cyberpunk 2077 either.
The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine launches within a month and a halfs time, Cyberpunk 2077 has no release window yet.
