There’s no question, The Witcher 3 is one of if not the best game that came out this generation. The highly talented folks at the Polish development studio CD Projekt Red have proven to the world that they are the bar to reach for everybody else.
An immersive world, outstanding writing, memorable characters, and exemplary post-launch support have elevated the studio into the stratosphere of developers. Now, they are making the deal even better in the form of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition.
Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.
This next-gen port includes all prior DLC and aims to take advantage of the technological advancements and power of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Ray tracing and fast load times are promised but as of now, there is no next-gen footage or screenshots to compare the extent of the upgrade.
One thing we do know though is that while the next-gen port will be available as a purchase for new users, existing owners of The Witcher 3 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC will receive the new version as a free upgrade! Once again, CD Projekt Red is showing how it’s done.
There’s no confirmation when exactly gamers can play the enhanced port but with the developer being occupied with their next big title Cyberpunk 2077 in November, it would make sense for the port to come out sometime after that.
