The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition has been out for three months already, but apparently enough customers over on GOG.com have made enough noise regarding the fact that the game is a separate purchase altogether. In a brand new announcement, GOG.com revealed that if you own the base version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its two DLC packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, you can upgrade your copy to the Game of the Year Edition completely free.
To celebrate this announcement, GOG has put both DLC packs on sale, and of course as a temptation to those who don't already own them. The DLCs are bundled as a pack and are 35% off coming to a grand total of $19.48. The Game of the Year Edition will not replace your old copy but will appear in your library side by side as a separate downloadable.
Just so you are aware, your saves from your old version of The Witcher 3 will not transfer over, so if you do decide to upgrade, you will have to start over. As fantastic as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was, many eyes are looking to the future at what CD Projekt RED will do with their next title, the supposedly "badass" Cyberpunk 2077.
