The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to release on May 19th, and as we inch closer to the release date more and more information gets released. Last week, we got a look at just how big Wild Hunt's map is – it's huge. There are are 25 smaller towns (around the size of Flotsam in The Witcher 2) and two large cities in the game.
That's just in the base game, the DLC will be bringing us new regions (among other things) whose size hasn't even been detailed yet. From the areas that we do know, only Novegrad, No man's Land and Skellige Islands, we can safely say that Wild Hunt's map is bigger than you would expect (especially with 4-6 regions of unknown sizes).
Thanks to NeoGaf, we know that Wild Hunt's map size (from the areas we know) is around 135 km/sq (52.5~ m/sq). In comparison, Skyrim's map amounted to 37 km/sq (14.3~ m/sq), Far Cry 4's map is 46 km/sq (17.8~ m/sq), Grand Theft Auto 5's map is 81 km/sq (31.3~ m/sq) and Red Dead Redemption's map is 41 km/sq (15.8 m/sq).
