Yesterday, CD Projekt RED released a patch for the PC of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that improved the game's performance and stability, added new graphics settings and brought some fixes (amongst other things). Along with the patch details, CD Projekt RED noted that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players would be seeing a similar patch "very soon."
As it turns out, "very soon" can mean a lot of different things, including not this week.
CD Projekt RED's Community Lead Marcin Momot has responded to inquisitive fans over the state of the patch for console players. Momot has explained that the developers are "addressing" what they can and "collecting everything the community is reporting." Because of this, the console patch may be more extensive than the one released on PC, meaning it will take more time to release.
So when is the patch coming? "Not this week. Sorry," said Momot. It may be tough waiting for the update, but console players can rest easy knowing that without the console version of the game The Witcher 3 simply would not exist "as it is."
