The Wonderful 101: Remastered launches this May for PC, PS4 and Switch

A real quick turnaround for a hidden gem

PlatinumGames has shared the release date of The Wonderful 101: Remastered. The surprise port is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 19th in North America and May 22nd in Europe. Check out the new release date trailer here!

Just a couple of weeks ago were we greeted with the surprise announcement of a Kickstarter campaign for PlatinumGames’ Wii U exclusive. The crowdfunding campaign immediately shattered its early goals and was basically confirmed to come out on all intended platforms. But today’s news about the concrete release date is still much sooner than expected. You can read what the game’s director Hideki Kamiya has to say about the remaster in detail here.

The Wonderful 101 has gotten this miraculous second chance thanks to all of you who’ve told us you wanted to play it, as well as the passionate PG staff who worked on it with me. We’re delighted to see it return on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam.
This isn’t just a simple port, either. We’ve tuned the controls for each new platform and made several adjustments that should make it easier to grasp and play. On top of that, we’ve improved the image quality and frame rate to suit modern hardware. On the whole, I’d say The Wonderful 101: Remastered is the definitive edition of the game!

With only three months between the Kickstarter starting and The Wonderful 101: Remastered actually coming out, PG isn’t joking around to bring one of the Wii U’s best games to modern systems. The game truly deserves it, as its financial failure really could be tracked back to the colossal failure of the system it originally came out for.

Pre-orders for The Wonderful 101: Remastered are live now and at a nice budget price of just $39.99 chances of it finally getting the recognition and wide-spread success it deserves are higher than ever.
