Zack Stentz, writer for X-Men: First Class, Thor, and the upcoming Power Rangers movie, is expected to be working on a script for a film based on DC Comics' not-so-heroic hero, Booster Gold.
After a few specific comments in regards to writing for a recent episode of CW's The Flash, directed by indie filmmaker and geek enthusiast, Kevin Smith, Stentz let it slip that he has been penning the script for a film taking place in the DC Cinematic Universe based on Booster Gold, while on Smith's YouTube program and podcast, Fat Man on Batman. Speculation had been in the air months back about a Booster Gold movie to be produced by The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl's Greg Berlanti, which was set to feature BG teaming up with (or at least introducing) his long-time superhero teammate, Blue Beetle.
If you're unfamiliar with the character, Booster Gold is a hero in the DC comics universe, first appearing in 1986. The story centers on Michael Carter, a security guard in the distant future with his professional athlete career far behind him. In an attempt to relive the glory days (and to take financial advantage of a more "primitive" time), Carter steals a series of superhero equipment and travels back in time to be a revered hero in the past. Unfortunately, heroism isn't as easy as he thought it would be, leading him on a journey to find out being a hero isn't all about the glory.
No official confirmation on the legitimacy of the claim, but multiple sources are suggesting the same thing, so the best thing to do is keep our ears to the ground and wait for updates.
