The X-Files reboot is close to being green-lit by Fox, proving that Fox might be able to do something right since it cancelled Firefly thirteen years ago. If the reports are true, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are returning as Mulder and Scully.
That's right folks, not only is it being said that X-Files will be making a return, the network is doing its best to have the original cast make a return — including having Chris Carter, the series creator, serve as an executive producer (as well as write the scripts).
The revival will likely be less than 10 episodes and will look to resolve the storylines from "I Want to Believe", the second feature film. If the reboot gets the green-light, then filming should begin sometime this summer; but, it isn't set in stone. Attempts to bring back other "key players" like the former members of the writing staff are currently being made through a deal with Fox. The network is teasing a "big announcement" in May — perhaps it will be The X-Files?
You see that, Mulder and Scully are looking expectantly at the title…waiting.
