Theatrhythm Final Fantasy sequel announced for 3DS

A sequel to last year's Theatrhythm Final Fantasy rhythm game is in development for Nintendo 3DS.

The follow-up is called Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, and it's launching in Japan next spring on the 3DS, according to the latest issue of Japanese weekly magazine Shonen Jump.

Curtain Call features over 200 playable songs, including ones from titles such as Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13, due out next year, and Final Fantasy 14. More than 60 potential party members will be available, along with a new multiplayer challenge mode.

Last year, we gave Theatrhythm a 9 out of 10, calling it "a complete package of nostalgia, fun gameplay, charming visuals, and breathtaking compositions that equally make up what Final Fantasy is all about." The game is also on iOS.
