‘There is not a weak episode’ in Game of Thrones season 6, says David Benioff

HBO's Game of Thrones will soon venture away from books and proceed in a new direction, a direction that will make for the best season yet, according to showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

After watching the near-finished versions after months of filming, the Emmy-winning duo claim that season six of Game of Thrones doesn't even have a weak episode – seemingly an anomalous situation for both writer-producers.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, David Benioff said: "Usually there’s an episode or two we’re kind of nervous about, that didn’t turn out as well as we hoped. This season there is not a weak episode.

"We thought at the script stage it might be our strongest season. Then the episodes came in better than we hoped. We’re always reluctant to say it’s ‘the best season yet’ because so much of that is in the eyes of the beholder. And Dan and I are so close to it that it’s impossible to be unbiased.

"But that’s my sense – watching them all together now, this is the best one we’ve done. It’s also the one I’m proudest of, because it was the hardest.”

Many Game of Thrones fans have been sniffing around for little tips and clues coming into the upcoming season, as it's the first season where the show has went ahead of the books.

Just recently the actress who plays Sansa Stark in the series, Sophie Turner, teased fans with some information regarding her character's future status – read more about that by clicking here.

Nevertheless, season six of Game of Thrones is expected to hit TV screens on April 24th via HBO in the US, and a day later in the United Kingdom via Sky Atlantic.
