There’s a way to choose which Eeveelution you want in Pokemon GO

For many years the power of selecting which Pokemon we wanted our Eevees to evolve into has been in our hands, and that doesn't stop in Niantic's hit mobile game – despite seemingly random selection.

Pokemon GO has quickly become a global phenomenon, there's no doubt about that. The simple idea of locating Pokemon and travelling towards them to catch them proving to gain huge traction, and is now the most used app on the marketplace too.

But anyway, let's cut to the chase.

Many people playing Pokemon GO might well have thought that evolving an Eevee was purely a random process, resulting in either a Flareon, Vaporeon or a Jolteon – just by chance alone.

However, a certain name-changing technique has come to light that might well allow you to determine which Eeveelution you receive.

Check it out:

According to the rumour that has surfaced on Reddit, if you change your Eevee's nickname to "Sparky," your Eevee will become a Jolteon. If you give your Eevee the nickname "Rainer," it will become a Vaporeon. And finally, if you name your Eevee "Pyro," it will evolve into a Flareon.

This isn't the only Pokemon GO 'Easter egg' that has been found either. You can start the game with a Pikachu instead of the usual starter Pokemon if you so wish. For more details on that, click here.
