Pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter will not be the only way to gain access into Battlefield 4's upcoming beta, DICE confirmed.
Providing some clarification since yesterday's surprise announcement, BF3 community manager Ian Tornay confirmed via Reddit that pre-ordering EA's Warfighter won't be the only way to get into the beta, but at this time "it is the only way to guarantee entry".
Battlefield 4 was officially announced yesterday following rumors of a leaked Origin listing.
While many were excited about a new installment to DICE's award-winning shooter, others feared it would mean the death of Battlefield 3. Tornay looked to quell some of the concerns writing, "We will continue to support BF3."
"DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3," he added. "Just as we've continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4."
Battlefield 4's beta will begin in fall 2013, though DICE or EA had no other details to share. They continue to emphasize that if it isn't posted on the official Battlefield 4 website, then it is nothing more than "rumor and speculation".
