These are the system requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Not much is being asked

Asobo Studio has shared the system requirements for the highly-anticipated reboot of the cult flight sim Microsoft Flight Simulator. Despite MFS making headlines for their photorealistic visuals, what’s being asked from PC owners is rather modest and should be attainable by a large majority of sim fans.

When Microsoft announced last year that a sequel to the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise was in the works, fans of piloting massive airliners in the digital realm were left ecstatic. After all, it has been almost 15 years since the last entry in the franchise opened up the terminals.

After all those years, it doesn’t come as a surprise that a new developer is at the helm of this reboot. French developer Asobo Studio has taken the heavy burden of bringing one of the most iconic sim franchises to the modern age. It’s an interesting choice when one considers Asobo’s past works. The studio most recently created the action-adventure game Plague Tale and is responsible for Ubisoft’s massive open-world racing series The Crew.

But from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Microsoft chose the perfect developer for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The most outstanding aspect is undoubtedly the visual presentation. Never before have we seen our blue planet be presented this realistically in a digital form. That’s quite logical however as Asobo is able to use real-life satellite imagery via Microsoft themselves.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is slated to come out this year on PC and Xbox One. In the meantime, check out the most recent video featurette where the developer details its plans for the multiplayer portion of the flight sim.
