These Knytt Underground screens are quite dreamy

Back in July we found out that developer Nicklas Nygren, or Nifflas, was working on Knytt Underground. The game, which is based on the freeware indie hits Knytt and Knytt Stories, was announced for PlayStation 3, Vita, PC, Mac, and Linux.

We've got some news on the PlayStation Network version of the game. It looks like Knytt Underground is expected to launch sometime this year. No word on the other versions, but PlayStation 3 and Vita owners certainly have something to froth at the mouth over.

Knytt Underground is a follow-up its two predecessors and takes place within the same world. Additionally, the gameplay is said to be "zen-like" with "darker, earthier" tones.

A handful of new screens have been released, and they show off the game's interesting art style. While you wait for Knytt Underground, why not check out these new images? Also, play Knytt and Knytt Stories if you haven't done so already.
