Thief the game will soon be Thief the movie, as work on the film is in production with Producers Roy Lee and Adrian Askeriah according to Variety
Square Enix's game series consists of four titles, with the most recent being released in 2014. Straight Up Films has acquired the rights for the film adaptations of the game from Square Enix and are currently working on a screenplay. Responsible for 2014's Transcendance with Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman, Straight Up Films has an interesting concept on their plate with Thief. Although other games like Assassin's Creed has a film debuting later this year with Michael Fassbender, it varies slightly from the likes of Thief. While games like Assassin's Creed feature both stealth and action, Thief opts for mainly the former. With very little action involved in game, Straight Up Films has their work cut out for them in order to make a good film that doesn't vary too much from the game. No other information is available at this time.
