This 1:1 replica of the BFG 9000 is huge

The Doomguy is pretty beefy and apparently he needs to be, at least to lift the somewhat plus sized BFG 9000, if this 1:1 scale replica is anything to go by.

It doesn't take a modern day Sherlock Holmes to figure out that the Bio Force Gun 9000 is a really big gun, but trust me, it's pretty big. Bethesda asked 3D replica makers MyMiniFactory to create a 1:1 scale replica of the iconic DOOM gun. With the help of some official source files and a 3D printer they created a non-functioning BFG 9000.

MyMiniFactory printed a total of 70 pieces which were glued together and painted to create a life like BFG 9000. When it was all said and done they stood there with a BFG weighing in on roughly 16 kilograms, or 36 pounds. The massive gun can be seen in it's entirety in the video above.

This isn't the first time someone has created a replica of the iconic BFG 9000, not that long ago someone created a LEGO replica with the help of over 5,000 LEGO pieces but it "only" weighed 20 pounds.
