In case you missed it, Microsoft revealed one of the limited-edition posters for Rise of the Tomb Raider that was shown off at San Diego Comic-Con. The event is over now and Microsoft has yet to approach the subject of the posters, so whether or not we will see these outside of the event and available for purchase is unknown.
Four artists, Geof Darrow, Frank Kozik, La Boca, and Tara McPherson, came together to create the Tomb Raider inspired posters. Each artist has their own style and focus, so each poster should be not only crazily detailed, but also more awesome than we could imagine.
Microsoft highlighted Geoff Darrow's Tomb Raider poster, that has Lara Croft up against one giant bear and 26 wolves. Originally, Darrow had more wolves in the poster: “I originally had her fighting even more wolves, but pulled it back so that I could bring her character into focus more.”
She's definitely in focus, but I can't stop looking at the bear with a hatchet in its head (or the wolf that Lara has by the tail. Check out the poster below:
“I wanted to place Lara in absolute danger. A pack of wild wolves wasn’t enough… so I figured she should fight a giant bear, too. Just when you think it can’t get any worse for her, I put her on the edge of a cliff. But she’s a superhero, and immortal. Even though Lara is in the most extreme situation imaginable, you know she’s going to going to live to tell the tale.”
