Modder Thomas Kole has revealed the crossover game that will either tide us over to Half-Life 3's release or act as a landmark for the game that will never be released. Kole took Hotline Miami and reimagined it into the Half-Life universe (if Half-Life took place in Miami — it still says 'Welcome to Miami' on the floor, but we can't complain. This is the only new Half-Life game we are getting and it's not even a new game, it's a mashup! *end rant*).
This awesome (and somewhat addictive) looking game is nearly complete. Kole took to his IndieDB page to speak on the state of the game, how many maps are complete and what is left to do:
"Alright, look at that. Most gameplay stuff is done, now it's down to making maps. I've got 4 maps now, Point Insertion, Route Kanal, Water Hazard, and a bonus level. All physics interactions work as expected, all gameplay elements are in place. All that's left to do is replacing the sound system, as it currently only works on windows 8, and cleaning up some code."
The game will be "available for free somewhere soon, stay tuned."
