The Dragon Valley map that released for Battlefield 4 earlier this week as part of the free Legacy Operations DLC had what some might consider the most elaborate easter egg hunt created in Battlefield. The easter egg is so elaborate, in fact, it requires being able to decipher Morse code (multiple times), find hidden buttons, do math, know other Battlefield references and know how to solve puzzles.
JJJU, Julian Manolov, an engineer at DICE who is considered a mastermind of mysterious an elaborate easter eggs has created an easter egg that will give anyone who takes the time to solve it a DICE LA Camo that only DICE LA employees have had access to up until this point.
It all starts with a skull on a wood beam and Morse code. After that, you need to find a bunch of hidden buttons across the map. Each button will either turn off or turn on a lantern in a temple, the goal is to hit the buttons in such a way that all the lanterns turn on – the thing is, the buttons are linked to different lanterns every time.
On top of that, you need to take a helicopter and blow up a tree on a hill somewhere on the map to find one of the buttons. It's inside the tree.
After you figure out the how to get the lanterns all on, the skull will be replaced by a keypad, with each button linked to a lantern that shows Morse code.
The message that the lanterns reveal will take you to an entirely new map, the Night Operations Zavod: Graveyard Shift map, where you'll find creepy slowed voice that is singing "I got little birdie legs" – which would be familiar to anyone who has watched Battlefield Friends. After that you have to use a clue from earlier to break down the song lyrics and get the code for a key pad.
If your code is correct, the morse code lamp will tell you to join a ranked conquest large game, stand at the west side of the shaft of the north-western water tower for two minutes, then use a code there.
Then you're done.
This easter egg is so elaborate, that it will be limited it to a dedicated few who are worth of the DICE LA Camo. Watch it all below, hats off to you Jackfrags.
