This new Star Fox Zero gameplay footage looks awesome

Check out this new Star Fox Zero footage dug up by the guys at GameXplain. This footage was found on the official Japanese Star Fox website, and it shows all of the vehicles in action. We'll have to wait until we get some hands on time with the release before we can say anything definitive, but the game play certainly looks like classic Star Fox with some interesting bells and whistles.

I've always been a big fan of cutting graphical prowess and using smart shortcuts to ensure smoother frame rates, and it looks like Nintendo has gone that route with Star Fox Zero. While it won't be winning any awards for its graphics, they seem to have improved and I have to admit the stylized graphics for the vehicles and enemies have really grown on me. They're beautifully simple and loaded with character, like how the “chicken walker” mode flaps its wings as it jumps.
