This week’s free PS Plus games: Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition, Tomb Raider, and more

With today's PlayStation Store update in Europe, most PlayStation gamers should have access to the first batch of March's PS Plus offerings.

In both the United States and Europe, PS4 owners are able to download Dead Nation: Apocalypse Editiona top-down shoot 'em up set in an apocalyptic, zombie-infested world. Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition is actually a re-release of Housemarque's 2010 PSN title, but does have a few PS4-specific features including a high score Challenge Mode and a Broadcast+ Mode. The latter mode allows livestream viewers (should you choose to livestream your gameplay) to influence the difficulty of the game. Periodically, viewers can vote between a positive effect (additional ammo) and negative effect (spawning zombie packs) that can occur in your game. Should your viewers act like a**holes, you can exact revenge on them as they will appear as named zombies in your game.

On the PS3 side, both markets are also getting Tomb Raider for free. Keep in mind, this is not the Definitive Edition that was released for PS4 in January. This is the original "last gen" version released all the way back in March 2013. Though you won't get Lara's gorgeous flowing hair in this version, the gameplay is practically identical. And it's not like the original release was ugly by any means — it still looks good. Whatever, it's free, so go download it.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is also available for PS3 owners Europe this week. The game follows the journey of two brothers on an quest to find a cure for their dying father. It features a unique control system in which each brother is assigned to a different thumbstick. You must use both brothers cooperatively to solve puzzle and explore the mysterious environments around you. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons was made available for PS3 owners in United States in January (for PS Plus, of course). Unfortunately, if you didn't already download it, you're too late.

You can see all of the upcoming free PS Plus games for March here.
