Thor: Ragnarok is one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 and its plot just got a bit clearer today thanks to a press release by Disney.
We've known that the film will feature Planet Hulk and the gladiator setting from previous updates, but today Disney revealed that Hulk's opponent will the mighty Thunder God Thor. According to the release,
Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
If you've noticed, Ragnarok was explained indicating that it meant the destruction of his homeworld. Hela, the new villain, has yet to appear in a Marvel film and Kate Blanchett's performance is eagerly anticipated. Jeff Goldblum plays the role of Grandmaster, who oversees the games in the Gladiator arena and his classic personality seems to be a perfect fit for the role.
