This year at Gamescom 2017, THQ Nordic revealed their hand in publishing the upcoming "Post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu RPG" called Biomutant. With THQ Nordic publishing and Experiment101, the game was looking quite interesting. While that hasn't changed, a few background details have.
THQ Nordic has officially bought Experiment101 as opposed to acting solely as their publisher. With the purchase came the IP rights to Biomutant. While news like this could be a bad omen when talking about publishers like EA, THQ Nordic has yet to squander any of the buyouts they've made.

In fact, the Swedish publisher came to own Darksiders and the Red Faction series after the collapse of THQ, even going as far as to continue holding the banner of the THQ name. Adding Biomutant to their list of franchises just adds to the list of IPs they've saved.
The two teams have been working closely on the game already, so any background changes will likely go unnoticed by most. The game is set to release later in 2018 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
