Tiger Woods hasn’t had the best press lately, so when Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12 arrives with a Tiger-less front cover, it’ll be hard to not jump to conclusions. EA denies any connection to the drama surrounding Woods, siting the addition of the Masters Tournament as the overriding reason to change the focus of the cover art.
“If the insinuation is it’s a reflection of EA Sports backing away from its relationship that goes back literally 13 years with Tiger, that’s not the case whatsoever,” said EA Sports President Peter Moore.“This is obviously a very important day in our history and an important day in the world of golf videogames, and focusing on the Masters is the right thing to do.”
The Masters Tournament has been a requested feature for years, so its addition is indeed a big deal. The game keeps with the Masters theme with options to relive classic moments at the Masters including Tiger’s multiple victories.
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12 is set for a March 29th release in North America and an April 1st release worldwide. The game will be available for Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3, with the PS3 version including Move support.
