Titanfall 2 gets a release window

We've known for a while now that Electronic Arts has been planning a sequel to its first-person shooter Titanfall.  Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella confirmed as much earlier this year, revealing it would also be coming to PlayStation 4, in addition to Xbox One and PC.

But it wasn't until Electronic Arts' earning call yesterday that the publisher actually revealed a release window for the game.

"You should assume that that's not in fiscal 2016. It's more likely in fiscal 2017," EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen said. "And a title of that size, we want to be pretty clear as to when it's falling in the title slate, and so your assumption should be 2017."

EA's FY2017 runs from April 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017, so it's possible that Titanfall 2 could be EA's big holiday release for 2016. Titanfall originally released on Xbox One and PC in March 2014.

EA also confirmed that Mirror's Edge 2's release date is sometime in Q4 2016.
