Titanfall’s DLC will be free forever

Earlier this week, Electronic Arts made free the all of the DLC for Titanfall. It doesn't matter what platform, what your Xbox LIVE membership status, or if you even own the actual base game — right now, you can download all of Titanfall's Season Pass for free.

While there was some initial confusion over why this was happening, developer Respawn Entertainment confirmed the reasoning was to celebrate the game's one year anniversary.

What's more, this isn't a temporary deal either. Responding to fans on Twitter, Respawn said, "This content is free starting now and will remain free for all users who purchase Titanfall for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC." Interestingly, I was able to download it without owning the game.

As for those of you who purchased the game and its Season Pass at launch, well, it doesn't look like you'll be getting anything which is really a slap in the face if you ask me. I know there's the argument that those who purchased the Season Pass have had it for over a year now, but usually that's fine for discounts. To make something completely free after people spent $30 on it — that just seems like a bad idea. How can you expect people to buy into the Season Pass of Titanfall 2 — yes, that was confirmed — when there now may be skepticism that you'll just make it free.
