Update:
The Xbox Games Store has been updated and Ryse: Son of Rome is now available for $39.99.

Looks like Microsoft's "test" with Xbox One digital deals is off to a shaky start. Today, Ryse: Son of Rome was supposed to be discounted for $39.99; however, as Major Nelson confirms, the sale is not showing up for everybody.
Looks like the sale price for "Ryse" is not showing for some people…I am checking into that.

Today's hiccup is one of the main arguments against an all-digital future for video games. Sure, the price may be "far better than the used price at GameStop," but at least you can get the price a retailer promises. Granted, retailers have their fair share of issues as well, but today's problem indicates we aren't yet ready for an all-digital future. Too much can go wrong right now, as evident by Ryse: Son of Rome.
When the price is adjusted, Ryse: Son of Rome will be available for $39.99, a 33 percent discount, until February 24.
