Toki Tori 2 Wii U release date pushed back to early 2013

Despite being confirmed for a December 20 launch date on the Wii U eShop, it looks like Toki Tori 2 will now be released at a later date. Developer Two Tribes cites the game's quality as the reason for the delay, stating that it wants to make sure the upcoming puzzle-platformer is as good as possible come launch.

New mechanics are being implemented into the game to ensure that fans of the original Toki Tori get an experience that feels both familiar and fresh. "The whistle and stomp concept is rather unique, the game world is filled with all kinds of creatures, we’ve added an interactive storyline and we’ll allow you to explore the game’s world as you see fit," explained the dev on its blog page.

Sadly, Two Tribes couldn't share a new release date for Toki Tori 2. Instead, the studio hopes to get the game out on the eShop "early in the new year."
