We are over two years away from the Tomb Raider reboot film hitting theaters, but today we found out who will be starring along side Lara Croft.
In a report out of Variety, Into the Badlands star Daniel Wu will play the role of Lara's partner as she attempts to find her partner. His character will be called Lu Ren, a ship captain who will steer Lara along her quest. It's been 21 years since the first game landed on consoles in 1996 and a full 16 since Angelina Jolie took on the role in the first film.
Standing in their way will be Walter Goggins who has signed on to play the villain. No details have surfaced on what Goggin's role will be. He is no stranger to the bad guy, playing similar roles in FX's The Shield, Justified and Sons of Anarchy.
The film will focus on a back to roots story of Lara, similar to the Rise of the Tomb Raider video game. No other details are available so far, but currently Tomb Raider is scheduled to release on March 16th, 2018
