Famitsu.com has posted a wealth of screenshots and artwork for Soul Sacrifice. Keiji Inafune, well known for helping to perfect Mega Man's iconic look, is creating the game for PlayStation Vita.
The protagonist, a prisoner to a cruel sorcerer, stumbles across a mysterious book called the Golam, which holds a demon within its binding. The demon-book lets players experience old battles between sorcerers and monsters, events that are described on its pages. These past conflicts are quests that players can partake in using the game's four-player multiplayer.
Players make "payments" to use and acquire higher forms of magic. These payments can come from different sources, such as stones and trees in the environment or even the character's body, although committing that particular sacrifice puts your character at risk of losing his human form.
