All of the speculation can finally end as a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game has been announced. While a series of clues have hinted at this for quite a while now, the official word comes via GameInformer which features an entire six-page spread about the new game, which is said to return to its Pro Skater roots.
Officially titled Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, the game's precision controls will be bolstered by series-first additions of power-ups and "the ability to shoot projectiles" for missions.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will seamlessly integrate solo and multiplayer gameplay, giving you the ability to play offline with your character or bringing them online for co-op and competitive play. There will be new levels "packed" with objectives and missions, as well as the ability to create skate parks that can be shared with the world.
A mix of legendary and "new generation" skaters will be playable, including Tony Hawk himself, Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 hasn't been dated, but is expected to arrive later this year on PS4 and Xbox One. Versions for PS3 and Xbox 360 will follow "shortly" thereafter.
