Last year, the man that brought the live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book to life announced that his next project would be creating a live-action Lion King to the big screen. So far, we have two confirmed voices for the upcoming live-action The Lion King – James Earl Jones will be voicing Mufasa, while Donald Glover voices Simba.
There are still a few more characters from the classic film that need a voice, like Scar, Timon, Pumba, and Nala (that's just a start of who needs a voice, though). Sources close to the project have revealed who the frontrunner for Nala is and it's not an actress, it's a singer (though she has appeared in some films).
According to sources that tipped Variety off, Beyonce is the top choice to be the voice of Nala. The insiders stress that while the singer is the top choice, has not made a choice due to her pregnancy. The studio and director are saying that they will do whatever it takes to accommodate Beyonce's schedule, according to the sources.
