Over the weekend, Torchlight 2 surpassed two million sales. Developer Runic Games confirmed the news today, adding the following comments:
"I'd just like to say a big thank you to all the players who offered their suggestions on what we could improve, and who stuck with us and supported us during development. It wouldn't have been possible without you, and we're humbled and grateful at your response."
It took just 10 months for Torchlight 2 to hit the two million mark. In comparison, the original Torchlight sold just over one million units within its first two years of release.
"We are overwhelmed by the reception for Torchlight 2," Runic Games' CEO Max Schaefer added. "To hit this milestone is a testament not only to our dedicated development team, but also to the greatest, most positive gaming community I've ever seen."
GameZone scored Torchlight 2 an 8/10, calling it a "fantastic experience from beginning to end." The game was recently highlighted on Steam Summer Getaway Sale; I managed to snag it for a cool $4.99.
