Torn Banner Studios, the developers of Chivalry, are looking at bringing medieval warfare from the PC to your living room console. With more than 1.2 million copies sold on PC alone the game has grown quite a cult following, and now the studio wants to expand.
"We're certainly looking at it," I was told when asked about the possibility of Chivalry on consoles.
"You'd be silly not to at this point," environment artist Rasmus Lofstrom told me, "but we don't have anything official to say." When asked if "it" also meant next-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One he responded, "Yes, for sure."
Given Sony and Microsoft's willingness to work with smaller studios for next-gen consoles, I wouldn't be surprised to see Chivalry on the PS4 or Xbox One. In the meantime though, we're waiting for the arrival of the game's Deadliest Warrior expansion this fall, which introduces completely new warrior types, environments, and weapons to the already chaotic medieval warfare.
