Toy company backtracks on Crash Bandicoot revival statement

Typical.

Yesterday, Crash Bandicoot fans were teased with the possibility of seeing a revival to the beloved franchise. The tease came from NECA Toys' toy director Randy Falk who stated, "I see they're bringing Crash Bandicoot back, which is really cool" during an interview.

Unfortunately, NECA is backtracking Falk's statement, saying that it was a misunderstanding.

"It's not the case," said a representative for NECA to GameSpot. "Someone has misunderstood a comment he made. Randy saw a faked fan-made image right before he came to the show and said that if the game were coming back, we'd love to do figures."

All of this news is following a tweet made last week from PlayStation Mid East, who had tweeted an image with a message that translated to: "Most Wanted: Where Are You Crash?"

CurrentlyActivision holds the rights to the Crash Bandicoot franchise. It will be interesting to see whether Sony works out a deal with Activision to revive the series (maybe they already have).
