Disney Pixar announced this week that their upcoming films The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 have swapped release dates.
With Toy Story 4 originally scheduled to release on June 15th, 2018, that slot will now belong to Incredibles 2 while Toy Story takes the June 21, 2019 slot that originally belonged to Incredibles 2. It's been 12 years since The Incredibles released back in 2004 and fans have been clamoring for a sequel ever since. It was set up perfectly with the appearance of The Underminer at the end, but Pixar has already noted that this will not be the focus of the sequel.
It will be curious to see where they go with the sequel, especially since baby Jack-Jack will no longer be a baby but a middle schooler. Either way, this is great news because it means that I…ugh I mean we, get to see Incredibles 2 a year earlier. Look, I love Toy Story but we already had three movies so I'm glad Pixar went this route. Plot wise, we only know about Toy Story 4 so far that it will focus on Woody trying to find his love Little Bo Beep after she was absent in Toy Story 3. Cars 3 will also be released on June 16th 2017 to give us something to hold us over with Cruz Ramirez, an all new female racer that helps renew Lightning McQueen's competitive spirit against rookie Jackson Storm.
Anyway, it's good news for Pixar fans and for a sneak peak of me when Incredibles 2 comes out, check out the pic below.
